Yin yoga.

Yin yoga is a gentle, meditative form of yoga that helps you slow down, release tension, and reconnect with yourself. By consciously focusing on your body and breath, you create space for more peace, relaxation, and awareness.

We have forgotten how to stand still.

We live in a world where we are ‘on’ almost all day long. We rush from appointment to appointment, are constantly reachable, and try to keep all the balls in the air. We think, analyze, and solve. Meanwhile, we become increasingly disconnected from the subtle signals of our body.

Many people only notice how tired they are when they become exhausted. How tense they are when their neck and shoulders are tight. Or how much restlessness lives inside, as soon as it finally becomes quiet.

That is exactly why slowing down feels so challenging for many people. We have become used to always staying in motion. Yin yoga invites you to let go of that pattern for a moment. To slow down, breathe consciously, and be present in your body with attention.

During every class, space is created to release tension, turn your attention inward, and listen again to what your body has been trying to tell you all this time.

Supports a relaxed nervous system

This is what yin yoga does for you.

Your body gets the space to recover.

By holding poses for a longer period of time, you stimulate the connective tissue, joints, and fascia. This helps to release tension, increase your mobility, and create more space in your body.

Your nervous system calms down.

Yin yoga activates the parasympathetic nervous system: the part of your nervous system involved in relaxation and recovery. Your breathing deepens, your heart rate slows down, and your body gets the chance to truly rest.

You create more peace in your head.

By repeatedly bringing your attention back to your breath and your body, more distance is created from thoughts that constantly demand attention. As a result, many people experience more peace, focus, and clarity.

Your body recovers, you get new energy.

When your body and nervous system can relax more, space for recovery is created. Many participants notice that they sleep better, wake up more refreshed, and feel more energetic during the day.

You learn to listen to your body better.

In the silence of a yin yoga class, you become more aware of the signals your body gives off. You develop more body awareness and discover better and better what you need.

You create more space to let go.

Every pose invites you to let go of tension, control, and expectations step by step. What you practice on the mat often continues to work in daily life: more softness, more trust, and more space to move with whatever arises.

This is what my yin yoga classes look like.

Every class has its own theme and is composed with great care. The different parts connect to each other, so you can slow down further and further and get the space to be fully present in the moment.

Meditation. We start every class with a short meditation. A moment to settle in, bring your attention inward, and be consciously present in the here and now.
Breathing. From the meditation, I guide you into a breathing exercise. Your breath helps you to release tension, calm your nervous system, and get into your body with more attention.
Yin yoga. Next, we move through various yin yoga poses that we hold for an average of three to five minutes. I guide you throughout the entire class, so you can always return to your breath, your body, and the moment.
Savasana and intention cards. We close with a savasana, in which your body gets the time to integrate all the effects of the class. Afterwards, there is space to pull an intention card as inspiration for the rest of your day or week.

Why yin yoga means so much to me.

Yin yoga crossed my path during one of the most difficult periods of my life. A period in which a lot changed, I had lost myself, and had to find back the trust in myself and life again.

My first classes were anything but relaxed. I was confronted head-on with the restlessness I had ignored for years. But just as I slowly surrendered to it, something special happened. For the first time in a long time, I experienced silence again. I reconnected with my body, learned to listen to myself better, and became mentally stronger.

From that moment on, I knew that yin yoga was much more to me than just a form of yoga. It became a way to stop and reflect every now and then. To feel what was living inside me and to find back the connection with myself step by step.

That feeling, that surrender, and that inner peace… that is exactly what I want to pass on in my classes. I have experienced for myself how much can change when you give yourself the space to truly stand still. I want you to have that experience too.

Good to know.

Give yourself the space to slow down.

Amidst everything you do for others, there should also be space for yourself. My classes are an invitation to stop for a moment, recharge, and consciously reconnect with your body.
